New Moon

Under luminescence of sun
I bask in cosmic delight
new moon exhaling
illuminating mystery
cascading ribbons suspending in sky, shimmering on water
beaming into my body

This is magic

How can this orb be so far away
and yet touch me so?

Since I was a child
in the quiet of night
I have looked upward, toward moon’s promising face
imagining other worlds, dimensions, beings
all life
living in light born from darkness

Oh, new moon
make me in your image
so I can be reborn, lifted into the dream
where lightness of being
is the source of all
